Sunday, February 12, was a special day for Kagay-anons, especially for the foodies. On that day, the country’s premier eat-all-you-can smokeless grill restaurant, Yakimix, opened its doors to the public. The restaurant is the first of its kind in the city, so everyone who trooped there last Sunday was in for a sumptuous treat.
Yakimix is a buffet restaurant with a twist. Aside from allowing you to eat all the food that you can, this popular dining place also allows diners to grill their own food. You can choose from a variety of meat and seafood favorites. Likewise, you get to choose which sauce or mix you want with your grilled favorites. Each table has its own smokeless grill and it’s quite easy to operate. You can adjust the heat, so you can grill your food just the way you want to.
Aside from the grill-your-own special, Yakimix also has an assortment of Asian dishes (mostly Japanese). So if you love tempura, sashimi, sushi, and sukiyaki, you will definitely be in seventh heaven!
If you don’t like grilled food or anything raw, you can choose from a wide variety of cooked specialties like Spicy Chicken, Salt & Pepper Shrimp, Crispy Pata, some vegetable dishes, and pasta. Soup lovers will enjoy feasting on three varieties of soup, with the Sukiyaki Soup topping the list.
And, of course, when there is food, there should be drinks. At Yakimix, you’ll have a lot of choices to consider. If you prefer soda, you can have as many glasses as you want. You can also go for your favorite juice drinks, or iced tea, or experiment by trying out the different lemonade varieties available.
If you love dining with your kids – or the kids at heart – Yakimix is the perfect place to go to because of its colorful and tempting dessert buffet. Tons of candies, chocolates, cakes, and other sweet temptations are yours for the taking once, twice, thrice, or as many times as you want to feast on them. You’ll love the chocolate fountain and fluffy marshmallows. And there’s an ice cream and frozen delights cart, too! Of course, there are fresh fruits for those who prefer the healthier desserts, but then, you can also make your own halo-halo! So it can be quite confusing trying to decide what to eat or which dessert to choose. Well, if you want the best Yakimix experience, might as well go full blast, right?
Yakimix is the perfect answer to the Kagay-anons’ craving for a buffet restaurant. It has practically anything you’d want to feast on no matter what time of day. The eat-all-you-can restaurant, however, serves their buffet specials twice in a day only: at lunch (from 11 AM to 2:30 PM, more or less) and for dinner (from 5 PM to 10:30 PM). Weekday lunch buffet is at Php499 per person while the weekend rate (Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays) is at Php599 per person. The dinner buffet is at Php599 all days of the week. For children below 4 feet, buffet fee is Php299, while kids under 3 feet can dine for free. Yakimix also offers a 3+1 special for your birthday month. Dine with three of your friends or relatives, show your ID and birth certificate as proof of your birthday, and you pay for only three persons. Now isn’t that a sumptuous treat?
