Pane e Dolci Introduces Civet Coffee to Kagay-anons

Pane e Dolci, through Café Zibetto, recently conducted a Civet Coffee and New Menu Tasting. Local media personalities and bloggers graced the event. They were treated to a fun and informative occasion.

Part-owner and proprietor, Chef Ruben Castor, gave a history of Pane e Dolci which opened last October 2013 and has recently moved to its present location at the 8th and 21st Streets in Nazareth, Cagayan de Oro City. They are well known for their sylvannas and pastries when they started the business.

His co-owner, Chef Mark Anthony Lacuesta, gave an informative presentation about coffee culture – its history, processing, roasting, and brewing methods.

The Café’s Master Roaster and Barista, Ernesto Tenestrante Jr., also gave a presentation about the history and benefits of the civet coffee cycle. This was followed by a demonstration on the different methods of brewing civet coffee beans.

Guests were able to sample the coffee product after each demonstration giving each of them a taste and experience of that was both unique and intriguing.

Aside from the demonstration on Civet Coffee, Chefs Ruben and Mark also presented the guests with their new menu. A delectable fare of pasta dishes, salads and their main meals – Pesto Chicken and Sauvignon Roast Pork.

Chefs Ruben and Mark are confident that Kagay-anons will grow to love the Civet Coffee Culture for the different experience it offers. The coffee that they serve are sourced from Civet Coffee farmers in Bukidnon as well as from coffee farms in Misamis Oriental.
