TAPOK is a long-enduring gathering of Kagay-anons in the United States. This activity first started in 1982 in Chicago spearheaded by Roy Gaane to relieve the homesickness that every Kagay-anon feels. It all started long before the age of emails and Facebook and every communication was done manually and through snail mails. Now the 16th Kagay-anon International Tapok happening in August 4-6, 2017 will be held at the Hilton San Francisco Bayfront and is hosted by Kagay-anons of Northern California.
TAPOK is long-enduring and definitely excites anyone born in Cagayan de Oro or Misamis Oriental or anyone who worked, lived or studied in the area. The activity gives participants three days to catch up and be surrounded by people who came from the same town or neighborhood where they grew up. It is like being home away from home since you will be sharing stories and news of your common friends, common town and similar childhood. But aside from this, hosts of the 16th Tapok also promises a unique event and activities to enjoy in one of the world’s most beautiful place – San Francisco, California.
